Here is who will be sharing with us throughout the day...

Hayley

Hayley Guest

Our CEO, Hayley Guest, will be launching this years' conference with our theme "Stronger Together".
'Stronger together’- this isn’t just a phrase – it’s a mindset, a way of living and a reminder of what we can achieve when we come together to support and uplift one another. In our schools, ‘Stronger Together’ means championing and cheering each other on, showing up even on tough days and turning ‘I can’t’ into ‘we did’. Today’s conference is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate this.

Leaders & Director's Session - Sir Steve Lancashire

Steve has been involved in primary education for thirty years and as a Headteacher for the past twenty years. Hillyfield Primary Academy is a double outstanding school and REAch2 was founded on its success. As the founding Chief Executive of REAch2, one of the largest and most successful primary academy trusts in the country, Steve sought to establish a family of schools that share his passion and drive to secure the best possible outcomes for primary aged children and to ensure that primary education has a strong national voice. Ensuring there is enough capacity in the education system to enhance existing good schools and to tackle the issue facing failing schools is at the heart of Steve’s vision so that all young people have access to an exceptional education. Steve was Knighted for services to education in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list in 2016. His workshop is aimed at leaders and Directors of the Trust as we prepare for future growth of Manor MAT.

Chimp Management - Tim Buckle

Tim has become an honourable member of the Manor MAT team this year! His impact is being felt far and wide across the Trust from staff, children and also to parents. His energetic and dynamic delivery never fails to engage you. During the workshop Tim will guide you through strategies to support difficult conversations that will speak to everyone’s human, tap into your computer and most importantly engage with your chimp! More info www.chimpmanagement.com

Teaching and Learning Workshop - Jo Leach & Steve Smith

Jo Leach & Steve Smith are the Strategic Leader for school improvement and the Headteacher of Oakhill Primary both within Orchard Community Trust respectively. They both have a passion and relentless drive for the ongoing development of high quality teaching and learning. During today’s session they will share their top six strategies to improve teaching and learning including a focus on adaptations within the classroom.

Kilter Leadership - Alan Rogers

As an Associate Headteacher, leadership development is in the DNA of Alan Rogers. He continues to impact both within the schools that he directly supports, across the Trust and beyond! During the workshop Alan will be sharing the development opportunities for leadership across the Trust taken directly from his up and coming leadership book ‘Kilter Leadership – 14 ways to make leadership teachable at every level’. This session is for those individuals that are already on the pathway of leadership and also for those that aspire to this.

Subject Leadership - Wendy Kendrick

As one of our Associate Headteachers, Wendy Kendrick continues to guide and lead our subject leadership, with every subject network meeting across this academic year. Whilst ‘deep dives’ are set to disappear in the new OFSTED framework, quality subject leadership will always be needed. The session will provide delegates with opportunity to revisit key aspects of ‘high quality’ subject leadership, the fundamentals in the creation of curriculums, as well as strategies that enable development and refinement.

Administration Review Feedback - Ant Smith

Following our MAT wide administration review, Ant Smith (CFO) will share the process, evaluation and outcomes. During the session Ant will share ‘golden nuggets’ discovered, including systems, procedures as well as ways to support all members of staff within our teams.

English Specialist Practitioner - Melanie Glazzard

As our English Specialist Practitioner for Manor MAT, Mel continues to sprinkle her magic across our schools! For anyone that has ever spent any time with her, they will know how passionate and inspiring she is in her quest to make children love reading. The workshop will reignite and inspire all of us in providing top tips and strategies to develop ‘a lifelong love of reading’ in all of us.

Pensions, are you missing out? - Rebecca Fisher

This pensions workshop focuses on what you may be missing out on and the key benefits. Clearly popular and in Bek’s own words ‘the rock and roll of pensions!’. This year the workshop will tackle pensions from a different angle. For staff new to the profession, why should you join the pension and what are the benefits?

EdTech Experience - Neil Beards

Technology continues to evolve and advance across the Trust, enabling all our children to achieve their full potential. The impact can be seen in our children’s level of independence and the levels of adaptation within and across their learning. Today’s workshop will be run twice and will share the different approaches and innovation that is being used across our schools, alongside our school leaders and teachers.

SEND - Albright Education Centre

We are delighted that staff from Albright Education Centre are able to join and support us again at this year’s conference. Through consultation with staff across the Trust, they will be offering two workshops including a focus upon Autism and ADHD, as well as a session to support staff with children’s emotional well being and anxiety.

Speech & Language - Carol Sutton & Hazel Shaw

This academic year we have had the privilege from benefitting from the expertise and knowledge of Carol Sutton and Hazel Shaw across all schools in our Trust to develop the speech and language needs of our children. Their positive impact has been felt in every school. Within today’s workshop they will share approaches that can be adopted by all staff to support our children and families with their growing and developing communication.

Archery - Soccer2000

This session has been a firm favourite at every conference that has been held since it has been hosted at Ormiston NEW academy. For those of you that need a sensory, physical break from the intense day of learning – this is for you!
